DARIUS LLOYD TEL-EQUEN

       DARIUS LLOYD ALBERTO TEL-EQUEN, male, was born on January 22, 2009 in Bagiuo City, Philippines. He was found to have congenital heart disease and was diagnosed at the Baguio Heart and Lung Diagnostic Center on January 30, 2009 by Dr. Gerry B. Acosta with the following findings:

Ventricular septal defect, large, subaortic
Dilated aorta overriding the ventricular septal defect
Pulmonary stenosis, infundibulovalvar, severe with maximum systolic peak gradient of 60mmHg
Tricuspid regurgitation, mild
Right ventricular hypertrophy
Good left ventricular ejection fraction
Confluent and good sized pulmonary arteries
     RPA= 0.37cm          LPA= 0.36
     Left-sided aortic arch
     (-) coarctation, Patent Ductus Arteriosus
     (-) effusion
     Mc Goon: 1.4

CONCLUSION: Congenital Heart Disease
                         Tetralogy of Fallot
                         Tricuspid regurgitation, mild

The baby is being checked up irregularly as the parents have no regular income - the mother cooks and sells snacks (with the child) and the father works sometimes as shine boy or carpenter. They rent a small room and hardly make both ends meet, so to say.

The parents are advised to wait for four (4) years before any operation can be undertaken (if the child survives that long) which costs a lot of Philippine money.
